Music is an important part of our worship and community at Ellensburg UMC.  If you are interested in participating in any of our music ministries, please contact our Music Director, Lee Bates.
Sanctuary Choir (September - May):  The Sanctuary Choir welcomes all who love to sing, regardless of level of experience.  Weekly rehearsals are held Thursday evenings from 7:00- 8:15pm in the Sanctuary (enter through the main double doors doors to the church). High schoolers to senior citizens are encouraged to join in praising God through choral music. Give us a try.  The choir begins singing in September and generally concludes at the end of May. The choir sings two Sundays a month and more often during the Advent, Christmas and Easter seasons.

Church and Community Band:  Our Community Band rehearses on Thursday evenings from 6:00-7:00pm in the Fellowship Hall (enter through the main double doors to the church).  Are you an instrumentalist who may played in a school band years ago or have played an instrument for fun, and would love an opportunity to play your instrument?  The EUMC-Community Band will provide that opportunity. It’s time to find the instrument that may be hiding in a basement, attic, or stuffed away in a closet and join us!  Ages HS through senior Citizens.

Handbell Choir:   Currently on break; we hope to resume for the Advent and Christmas season.  Ringing is fun and a great way to use the gift of music in sharing with others. We rehearse on Thursday evenings from 6:00-7:00pm in the Sanctuary (enter through the main double doors to the church).  All ages and experience levels are welcome!

Kimball Organ:  Our beautiful, 20 rank Kimball organ has a long history.  The W.W. Kimball Company of Chicago originally crafted the organ for installation at a church in Spokane.  Records indicate the year was 1902.  The Spokane church closed and sold the instrument to the Methodist Episcopal Church of Ellensburg, the forerunner to the present United Methodist Church.  When our present building opened in the early 1920's the instrument was dismantled and installed at its current location.  The organ was modernized, and rebuilt onsite in the mid 1950's. Eventually, chimes were added and they can be heard outdoors as well through the speaker in the steeple.
